Watch for wildlife, soak up the history, relax and learn along Augusta Canal. Take one of the regularly scheduled tours, a delightful Moonlight Music Cruise, or charter a private cruise for your group. The open air  boats depart from the docks at Enterprise Mill. Be sure to dress appropriately for the weather.

Children under the age of 4 years are free if accompanied by a paying adult or senior. (One free child per paid ticket.) No children under 4 permitted on three-hour tour or music cruise.

*School & Youth Group Rate: $8 per student for history OR science tour, $12 per student for combination history & science tour. Effective June 1, 2012, 1 chaperone free per 10 students, all other adults $8.

General Information

All boat tours depart from the Canal Discovery Center at Enterprise Mill, 1450 Greene Street, weather permitting. The boats are uncovered, so dress for the weather. We provide umbrellas on board, should the weather take a turn for the wet.

Our boats can carry up to 49 passengers, but for comfort of our guests, we suggest no more than 40 passengers per tour.

The Petersburg boats are uncovered, so dress for the weather (hats, rain gear, sunglasses, sunscreen, etc.). Flat-soled deck or tennis shoes are strongly recommended, as you will be descending five narrow steps to reach the boat deck. Passengers may bring beverages and snacks aboard for personal consumption.

Advance reservations are strongly encouraged. Calling the day of your tour to confirm also is recommended. 706-823-0440 x 4.

Note: Departure times and locations may vary from published schedule. Management reserves the right to cancel tours when necessary and reassign patrons to an alternative departure time.

Closed New Year's Day, Easter, Independence Day, Wednesday and Thursday of Thanksgiving week, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Online Reservations/Cancellations: All seats for Petersburg Boat tours purchased online require a credit card. You may cancel up to 48 hours prior to your scheduled departure. A credit will be issued on your card. Cancellations must be made by telephone - 706-823-0440, ext 4 or 7 or by email at hmadden@augustacanal.com.

Telephone Reservations: You may book reservations by telephoning the ticket desk, 706-823-0440 x 4. Friday Music Cruises and Saturday 3-hour Sunset Cruises, are held with a credit card at time of booking. One-hour tours do not require a credit card hold.

Reservation Cancellations: Reservations must be canceled 48 hours in advance for a full refund. If possible, management will issue refunds for later cancellations, but this is not guaranteed.

Rain checks:If inclement weather or any other issues cause a tour to be canceled, a rain check or a refund will be issued.

Merchandise Returns: Merchandise purchased at the Augusta Canal Gift Shop or Canal Online Gift shop can be returned within 30 days of purchase. Receipt required. Customer is responsible for return shipping to Augusta Canal Gift Shop, 1450 Greene Street, Suite 400, Augusta GA 30901.
