Groups seeking opportunities to do service projects are encouraged to contact the Augusta Canal staff to discuss specific ideas and opportunities. Please call 706-823-0440 for information.

ACT - Adopt a Trail

ACT (Adopt-a-Canal-Trail) volunteers assist the Augusta Canal staff by monitoring, maintaining and enhancing the Canal waterway and trails. Groups or individuals can adopt a section of land and/or water trail. Adopters agree to visit their section at least 4 times a year for litter and debris pick-up, light pruning, and inspection. An official Adopt-a-Canal-Trail sign will acknowledge your group's commitment to keeping the Canal clean and safe.

Reach the Adopt A Canal Trail Coordinator at 706-823-0440 extension 8, email to jshurtleff@augustacanal.com
